Playing for Success

Playing for Success is part of the Government’s National Framework for Study Support.

Primary and secondary students are selected by their schools against agreed critera set out in the school’s development plan. Groups of 12 pupils attend a programme of sessions over eight weeks. Each session lasts two hours and takes place after schools, from either 2:45 to 4:45 or 4:45 to 6:45. Each session is tailored to develop pupils’ literacy or numeracy skills depending on the focus requested by the school. At the same time, both the programmes of study and the environment are designed to enhance ICT skills as well as raise pupil confidence and self esteem.

Each learning session is delivered by experience teaching staff and is well supported by mentors from the Meteor Project in conjunction with Teesside University. Pupils are transported to and from the centre, in our own mini bus.
